FOUR KEY TRENDS FOR AUTUMN/WINTER
October 05, 2018
So - we're all on board that animal print is a key trend of Autumn/Winter '18, agreed?
But what other trends have we got creeping into the high-street? and more importantly what do we all want to fill our winter wardrobes with?!
Well, to keep it easy we have picked out four of our fave AW trends that are already hitting down in stores, and pulled together a collection of our most desired pieces. There is so so sooo much amazing newness in stores so we've kept it concise but trust us, picking just four trends was a tricky one. Let us know your favourite trends in the comments below, we love reading your responses.
Winter Florals
Making summer florals work in winter, we bring to you this dark and dramatic take on floral prints. We love these black background prints and the luxurious feel the darker tones give. Who said floaty, floral dresses had to be a summer only style anyway?!

This whole grid is just so gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing to look at. We adore the floaty styles especially the layered ruffle top from Missguided. And how incredible does the Mango dress look with red boots?! We're not sure we would have to though to put those together but they look amazing.
Brown is the New Black
Brown is the New Black
For this trend we are keeping it neutral. In homage to the 70's, this sepia tone colour palette is making a new name for itself on the high street. From camel to tan, brown is no longer boring in our books.

Going into Autumn is always very coat focused but this year, the coats around are more incredible than ever. There are so many fur and borg coats around so why not choose a brown tone and get two trends in one? How could you not love the furry coat from Mango - snuggly bear alert! The Zara pinafore is another perfect piece to get you through Autumn. Mixing up the base layer from t-shirts to shirt is the best way to get as much wear out of this piece as possible. We love it over the printed shirt, it is such a gorgeous combination!
Check Mate
It's Clueless but chic. Checked prints were all over the AW18 catwalks back in March, and we just knew we would be obsessed when the trend came around. And it's not just the classic heritage checks that we are obsessing over - it's the bold and beautiful too!
1. Topshop 2. Mango 3. Topshop 4. Topshop 5. M&S 6. ASOS 7. & Other Stories 8. Stradivarius |
Checked prints are all over the high street featuring mainly in suits, coats and tailored trousers - all of which are maaaaassive this season. The suit from & Other Stories gives us serious Haim vibes. We're not sure if we would be able to pull the crop trouser off but we HAD to include it here, we couldn't not! There are so many beautiful checks with pops of colour and of course they are our favourite, the Stradivarius jacket in particular with the pretty oranges and pinks intertwined.
Cool in Corduroy
We have not worn corduroy in what feels like forever, but it's another 70's comeback, and are loving the pieces this trend is throwing onto the high street. We've got a selection of our favourites below but honestly search any of your favourite brands and they've probably got a corduroy suit - we love it!
1. ASOS 2. Topshop 3. M&S 4. Topshop 5. & Other Stories 6. & Other Stories 7. Topshop 8. ASOS |
Cord is another trend that we never thought would be making such a big comeback. There are so many amazing colours on the high street and like every other trend this season - if it can be made into a suit then it has been. The lilac and yellow suits above are both incredible and such gorgeous colours.
We love the belted black cord skirt from & Other Stories and the jumper is has been paired with too. This skirt would be great for dressing up or down and looks great with a pair of heeled boots.
Thanks so much for reading this post!
