Well, it's still not December, but our festive spirit is still going strong! This year has potentially been the earliest we've started getting Christmassy, and now that we live on our own, we get to decide when our Christmas tree goes up - yep, you guessed it, our tree is up!
Despite previously coming down to London at Christmas, we had never stepped foot in Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, until now! If you need a little help feeling festive then this is definitely the place to go. Winter Wonderland is sooo big and even more exciting. It's a never ending Christmas extravaganza full of markets, food stalls, shows, rides and all things festive!
Word of Warning: We got there early afternoon and it was surprisingly not that busy, so if you just want a calm wander then we would recommend going early on, as when we were leaving at about 4 the queues were huge!
Whether it's fun fair games or roller coaster rides that's your thing, you will definitely have lot's of choice at Winter Wonderland. There are so many rides, and as a roller coaster loving family we just couldn't leave without riding one! As I'm sure you've guessed, we went on the looping roller coaster pictured above and oh my god, it was so good! It was definitely theme park standard. As you'd expect it was quite expensive, but with five loops, it was SO much fun and 100% worth it!
We plan on going back here certainly a few more times so we will trial out the other rides too and let you know - we've got our eye on the sixty metre tall swings.
The main reason for anybody to go to Christmas markets is always the food and drink, and Winter Wonderland is THE place to go for festive food! We of course had the obligatory Bratwurst and Mulled wine, followed by some amazing churros. Which if we're honest, were some of the best churros we have eaten since our first discovery of these incredible delights in France 10 years ago! We also found the coolest place to grab a mulled wine on an old carousel. Who doesn't want to enjoy a festive drink while slowly spinning around and around?!
There is the biggest selection of food and drink at Winter Wonderland. We didn't even see the famous Bavarian Hall, so that's a place for next time, as well as The Firepit to huddle around a fire toasting marshmallows, drinking cocktails and enjoying a live band in the evening.
At the risk of sounding like an advert for Winter Wonderland - it is absolutely Christmas to the max! There's so much fun to be had with ice skating, Cirque Berserk, Cinderella on Ice and live music to name just a few ways to spend your time there. We think we could probably go every day from now until Christmas Day and still not get bored! With an infinite list of food stalls, bars, rides and entertainment we would definitely recommend it to you ALL!
Thanks so much for reading this post! We hope we are helping to spread the festive spirit!
